As conventional ground cranes could not reach the location for this 450,000 CFM air handling system atop a large paper mill, August Winter & Sons undertook one of the largest helicopter industrial projects in the state. All ductwork was insulated and clad prior to installation. Two air handling systems - nearly 90 percent of all ductwork - were set in place by helicopter. The heaviest section weighed about 24,000 lbs. The entire project was a turnkey operation under the direction of August Winter & Sons, including all gas piping and electrical work.
