Job Description:
The HVAC Controls Programmer and Integrator is responsible for integration, building energy related data analysis, installation, programming, commissioning and general servicing of complex HVAC systems, including detailed troubleshooting of systems. Daily travel is required. Most jobs are located in central or north-central Wisconsin. However, travel outside this geographical region may be required based on the location of jobs. A company van, computer, phone and tablet are provided.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for integration, building energy related data analysis, installation, programming,commissioning, and general servicing of complex HVAC systems, including troubleshooting ofsystems
- Integrate multiple 3rd party systems to create a seamless user interface using the Tridium front end and BACnet, LON and Modbus protocols
- Diagnose and repair complex systems requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic and digital controls systems
- Provide sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings
- Communicate with customer and project managers upon arrival and before leaving the worksites
- Meet regularly with customer to become familiar with operating problems
- Keep customer informed of the nature of the service provided, outstanding issues and recommends improvements to system
- Train the customer in control systems operations. Deliver manuals and documentation to the customer for training needs as required
- Compile job documentation, such as certificates of completion, customer training, forms and punch lists
- Independently conduct extensive self-study including reading, research and practice to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company products
- May assist with job layouts and bid proposals
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections, job start up, and troubleshoot automated building control systems
- Use expertise to assist clients in optimizing their operations
- Consult with the customer through data gathered and site assessments
- Provide field proposals for retrofits, upgrades and or enhancements to existing equipment
- Assist sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads
- Work with Project Manager to understand project scope and budgeted hours and actively communicate project status, including any changes in scope
- Help train less experienced HVAC Controls Programmer and Integrators
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of a 2-year college/technical school degree and the following experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as HVAC Controls Technician; or
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician; or
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controls Installation Electrician
- Knowledge in programming languages
- Tridium N4 Certified or become Certified within a reasonable time after the start of employment
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Driving record must meet our insurance carrier’s requirements for insurability; Please inquire for a list of requirements
- Must follow government, customer and AWS safety protocols
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs
- Timecards will need to be filled out daily with a detailed list of work completed
